Barbaric
Located in the heart of Luanda on the emblematic Comandante Che Guevara street, Barbarico is one of the references in the Angolan capital in terms of Grill service.
The space resides in what was once a beautiful colonial villa, having been very well adapted to the concept of a restaurant with lounge and terrace, achieving a harmonious integration, resulting in an airy, very tidy, eye-catching environment.
The chic decor is not pretentious and shows good taste, which can be seen right from the outside, with the beautiful frosted glass that loves the windows under the wall and gives customers some privacy. Inside, the dark brown wooden floor blends in well with the red tablecloths, giving it a touch of intimate comfort. You can say: “We are in a house where customers are treated well”.
Right at the entrance, a cozy lounge area, with a beautiful sofa that can give rest to diners waiting for a table on the busiest days, or simply serve as a resting place for smoking customers who eat in the living room, as smoking is allowed only on the airy terrace. .
What stands out at Barbarico is the level of service, very good, almost impeccable. Waiters are attentive and especially quick, with the average waiting time for a dish much shorter than in most restaurants in Luanda. Considering the average price of the dishes below the average of an identical category restaurant, it is indeed a find.
The menu is based on Portuguese gastronomy with dishes to fill the eye, such as starters where you can find fried cod, woodpecker or prawns in garlic. Grilled meat dishes, grilled chicken and sirloin steaks are served. There is also Braga-style cod loin, grilled salmon and grilled grouper steak. And of course desserts such as fruit, ice cream, puddings and cakes.
The wine list, despite not having many references, is balanced and arrives for orders with whites and reds for all purses. The most dedicated lovers can appreciate the elegant wall in the living room that serves as a mini-cellar, on which the best brands of the house are exhibited.
The restaurant combines a functional concept, where in the morning it is possible to have breakfast, brunch from 7:00 am, lunch à la carte or buffet or dinner, almost without noticing it, as if the environment had changed.
On Wednesdays, Barbarico has live music and on weekends or football days, if you want to schedule group dinners, we advise you to make reservations.
